$1 Spot

Option 1 – Michael Finke

Option 2 – Trent Meacham

Option 3 – Tyler Griffey

Option 4 – Nick Smith

My Pick – Michael Finke

The one-dollar spot for this team is another tough one because they are all okay players who could help a team. The four options include Michael Finke, Trent Meacham, Tyler Griffey and Nick Smith.

Meacham transferred into the Illinois basketball program and had a solid career for the Orange and Blue. He was a talented shooter from the outside. He is one of the reasons this program could put up points in the late 2000s.

I think all Illinois, and probably Indiana, fans have memories of Griffey. This kid was solid with the program and made one of the most memorable shots in program history. That shot to beat Indiana will never be forgotten and neither will Griffey.

Smith didn’t get a ton of playing time but was an effective big man. He played during the golden years of Illinois basketball which was the early and mid-2000’s. Smith was a memorable big man who had rare height.

This was tough, but I ended up going with Finke on this one. I liked Finke when he was with the Illini. He was a nice big man. His rebounding was a little off, but he could shoot the ball well. He would fit nicely with the team I put together here.

Next. Louis Lesmond would continue Europe to Illini pipeline. dark

So, I ended up with a roster that includes Deron Williams, Ayo Dosunmu, Trent Frazier, Leron Black and Michael Finke. I think this lineup could do some damage.
