An interesting option that could potentially be a landing spot for Ayo Dosunmu in the 2020 NBA Draft would be the Los Angeles Lakers. They need help at the No. 1 guard spot, among other positions.

This upcoming season is going to be the determinate if the LeBron James era works out in Los Angeles. I believe the Lakers will make some offseason moves that will eventually send Lonzo Ball packing for some other city. That would leave Rajon Rondo as the lone point guard on the team.

Rondo averaged 9.2 points, 8 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game this season. He only played in a total of 46 games, though. He is a true point guard, but he gets injured frequently and he is 33 years old. So, he isn’t a great option moving forward.

LeBron is also a No. 1 guard along with him playing just about every position on the court. But even if he handles the ball down the court, he won’t be in the NBA too much longer. He will be 35 years old this December. So, the Lakers are going to want to get a little younger and they will likely need a few inexpensive pieces to add to the team via the NBA Draft.

The one caveat to the entire situation is the fact the Lakers will, probably, trade away any first round pick they have in 2020. So, this would make it difficult if not impossible to land Ayo. But you never know what could happen. Ayo would be a good option for a Lakers team that will likely have little cap room in 2020.
