No. 1 Guard

Starter – Ayo Dosunmu

The No. 1 guard entering the 2019-2020 campaign is going to be Ayo Dosunmu. There isn’t any speculation about this position. Ayo is going to command this offense and be a leader on the floor. This kid is ready to take the next step in his career.

Last season, Ayo came into the program as a true freshman and led the Illini in multiple statistical categories. He averaged 13.8 points per game, which was No. 1 on the team. He also averaged 3.3 assists per game as well, which ended up No. 1 on the team. His was sensational when he stepped onto the court, and I expect nothing less this upcoming season as well.

Backup – Andres Feliz

Another player who was new to the team last season but stepped in and was great was Andres Feliz. He didn’t come into the program as a freshman, though. He was a junior college transfer and one of the few that has actually worked out for the Orange and Blue.

Feliz was sensational coming off the bench for most of the season last year. He averaged 8.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. I expect that same production out of him this upcoming season as well. I have him as the primary backup to Ayo but should still get a ton of minutes.
