The Illinois basketball team added a member to the family on Saturday, so this will change the lineup slightly.

Heading into this past Saturday, the Illini had two scholarships to fill for the upcoming 2019-2020 campaign. I was starting to get worried we weren’t going to be able to fill these two spots. There have been so many graduate transfers turn down the Illini. This also had me worried.

But Illinois kept on the recruiting trail. Just because we didn’t land a few of the graduate transfers we were aiming for doesn’t mean all is lost. The Illini kept fighting and have now landed Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk.

Bosmans-Verdonk is an under-the-radar kid who could really help this program this upcoming season and moving forward. I think he has a lot of talent, but I will be curious to see how it translates over to the college game. With the addition of Bosmans-Verdonk, Illinois now only has one scholarship left for the class of 2019.

Now that we have added another player with size, it is time to adjust the lineup. It has been interesting to see the lineup develop with each commitment.

Here is the projected Illini starting lineup with Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk.
