I think we can all agree that the wide receiver corps is an area of worry for the Illinois football team.
Sure, there are a few pass catchers on the team right now who are fun to watch. I like Ricky Smalling, Dominic Stampley and Edwin Carter, just to name a few. But we do need some serious help at this position. Illinois will be losing a few of these players in the next couple of years as well.
Illinois has done a great job trying to fix the holes we have at wide receiver. The Illini have already landed Jadon Thompson for the class of 2020. Thompson is a four-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 290 player in the class. I am excited to see this kid suit up for the Orange and Blue.
There are a lot of pass catchers on the market for 2020 who have caught the attention of the Illinois football coaching staff. Some of the players share the interest in the Illini and others have moved on to what they think are greener pastures.
Some people are going to question this list because there are a few players I left off of it. One of the players I left off is AJ Henning. I love this kid’s game and he is going to be a superstar. I want to land him. I think he would be a great player for the Illini. But signs are pointing to him going elsewhere. I hope that I am wrong, though.
