The Illinois basketball team is going through some changes right now which leave the roster in sort of a pickle.

I really like what we have starting and the backups on the team heading into the upcoming season. There are players who have a chance to shine and move up in the NBA Draft rankings. I think there is a legit shot Illinois has two first-round draft picks in 2020. This would be a great recruiting chip for the future.

There are also some players who didn’t have very good seasons last year. These players were expected to perform well but for one reason or another came up short. I think this is a make or break year for these few players. They have a chance to rewrite their history.

Illinois is adding a few players who are going to help this team as well. These players are coming into the program and will get minutes right away. The guards will love to have these big men on the team because it gives them more options on the court.

While some of the changes to the roster have hurt the program, other changes will help the team win games. This roster could use a player or two more as well.

Here is the update Illini projected starting lineup for 2019-2020.
