There was a wide range of scholarships given out by the Illinois football team this week.

The state of Florida can help this Illini program on both sides of the ball. Illinois coaches have plenty of talent down in the Sunshine State, and that is why they keep offering these talented kids. Just a few days ago, one of the offers went out to Marcus Clarke.

Clarke is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver from Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Florida. He isn’t rated or ranked by 247Sports, but this class of 2020 athlete has some solid scholarship offers. I would assume he isn’t ranked because he is a late bloomer and 247Sports hasn’t had a chance to see what he can do. But having big-time scholarships shows me this kid has some talent.

As of right now, Clarke has roughly 10 scholarship offers. In addition to Illinois, some of the biggest offers include the likes of Tennessee, Florida State and West Virginia. Something tells me this kid is going to continue piling up scholarships as well.

Clarke is the type of player Illinois continues to target in the recruiting game. He isn’t just a one-way player who specializes in a certain area. I believe he can play various positions on the team. He is a great defensive back in high school, but I think he is going to be an even better wide receiver in college.

When I first started watching Clarke’s highlights, I was floored by his speed. It is incredible how quickly he can go from catching the ball to full speed. His strides are long, and he can burn any defender that is on him. This is the most impressive thing about his game. I also like his ability to break tackles too. He doesn’t go down easy.

Next. Illini Mount Rushmore for the football program. dark

Illinois can, hopefully, get in on Clarke’s recruitment. This kid is underrated and is bringing in scholarships weekly. He is going to end up being ranked in the top 1000 when it is all said and done.
