2. Kevon Billingsley

At one time, I thought Illinois was a sure-thing when it came to landing Kevon Billingsley. While I still think we are alive for his commitment, I am not sure where he stands because his recruitment has been so quiet.

Billingsley is a 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive tackle from Parkway North High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 348 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 34 defensive tackle in the nation. He is also the No. 7 player in the state of Missouri as well.

Throughout his recruitment, Billingsley had plenty of scholarship offers. These offers included some of the biggest names in college football. But, he decided to trim his list to only include 12 programs back on January 18. Billingsley included Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Alabama, Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri, Michigan, Florida, Georgia and Illinois on this list.

Honestly, it seems like the recruitment of Billingsley has slowed down a little bit. He has a picture wearing a Missouri uniform as his avatar. I don’t think he was at the recruiting visit this weekend in Champaign either.

I hope Illinois is still alive in the recruitment of Billingsley. He would be a nice addition to the center of the defensive line. This kid is a solid talent at the next level.
