The Illinois football team will have a great offensive line for the 2019 campaign.

I am excited to see how well this offense moves with the front five they have right now. The offensive line is skilled and experienced. This will go a long way in having a dynamic offense. But, there are a few who will need to be replaced in the next couple of years. Getting someone like Bradley Ashmore would help fill those voids.

Ashmore is a 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle from Duncan U. Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, Florida. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 835 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 80 offensive tackle in the nation. He is also the No. 97 player in the state of Florida as well.

There are a wide variety of teams pursuing Ashmore. Teams like Auburn, Indiana and Purdue are among the around 19 scholarships he already has on the table. More offers are going to be coming for this kid. There is one tiny speed bump, though. Ashmore has already made a commitment.

Back on November 24, Ashmore took an official visit to Vanderbilt. He liked that visit so much that he decided to make a commitment that day. This is a big get for the Commodores. But, while he is committed right now, there is still a long way until the early signing period and teams continue to try to swoop in and pry him from his commitment.

It would be amazing for Illinois to come in and flip Ashmore over to the Orange and Blue. This kid is going to be really solid at the next level. He has a good burst off the line. He has the ability to move well, which is hard to find with an offensive lineman of his size. Illinois will also need more offensive linemen as well. Richie Petitbon is going to be departing after this season. He is going to need to be replaced.

I hope Illinois can get in the recruitment for Ashmore. The kid has talent that could be used in year one with the Illini. It will be interesting to see if Ashmore even entertains the possibility of taking another official visit.
