The Illinois basketball team notched another win in their belts as they got revenge against Nebraska.

Illinois started this game hot and it carried throughout the contest. They started the game with a 7-0 run until Nebraska finally scored with 17:50 left in the first half. The Cornhuskers went on a 10-0 themselves to take the lead 10-7.

The Illini were able to tie the game up at 13-13, but Nebraska went on another little run to extend the lead to 18-13 with 12:10 left in the first half. Illinois had the lead back at 23-21 and continued to put the pedal to the metal. We got the first 10-point lead with 2:59 to go in the first half on a Trent Frazier three-pointer. Illinois then went into the half-time locker room with a 38-29 lead.

Nebraska wasn’t much of a matchup in the second half, though. Illinois was able to extend their lead to 15 points right out of the gate in the second half. With 10 minutes left in the game, Nebraska got the deficit down to seven points, but that is the closest the game would get. Illinois had it back to double-digits before the Cornhuskers ended on a little run.

Illinois still managed to hold onto the game and beat Nebraska 71-64. This was a good win for the Illini.
