With a big addition to the roster on Sunday, the Illinois basketball team will have a changed lineup entering next season.

The 2018-2019 campaign is rocky, to say the least. The Illini are 4-11 right now with no end of misery in sight. But, that doesn’t mean the future can’t be bright. We have talented players on the team right now who are trying to develop chemistry and their games before next season. That is why the rest of this year is so valuable to this program.

Illinois is going to lose a few players as well. I will be sad to see Aaron Jordan depart the program. He has been through so much with losing and a coaching change, but he stuck with the Orange and Blue through it all. This kid bleeds our colors and I appreciate that. There will be a few others who will be departing as well who will be missed.

So, with players departing and new players coming in, this team is going to look different. There will be some old faces still here, but Illini fans should be excited about what is coming.

Here is the projected Illini starting lineup with Kofi Cockburn.
