While the Illinois football team was signing the future of the program, they were also offering a scholarship as well.

Keith Miller III took to Twitter to announce that he has received a scholarship offer from the University of Illinois. This offer came in the middle of the early signing period and is one that I am a fan of.

Miller is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound wide receiver from The Colony High School in The Colony, Texas. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 743 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 135 wide receiver in the nation. He is also the No. 105 player in the state of Texas as well.

If The Colony sounds familiar to anyone, that is the same high school as Illinois basketball legend, Deron Williams. That information is kind of pointless to this article, but I thought it would be a fun fact to throw out there.

The Illini are getting in early on Miller’s recruitment. Surprisingly, he doesn’t have a ton of scholarship offers right now. It looks like the Illini are the third team to offer Miller with the first two being Texas Tech and Kansas. That is good for Illinois, though, since they are now in on his recruitment as one of the first few teams.

I am really curious why Miller doesn’t have more recruiting attention. He is a monster. This kid stands at 6-foot-4, which makes him a big target for a quarterback. He looks to have really good speed as well. He also seems like he has good hands too. I would figure he would be closer to the top 300 but, he is still in the top 1000. I am shocked Miller only has three scholarship offers right now.

Illinois got in early on Miller’s recruitment and that should bode well for their chances of being one of his top schools. Hopefully, we can land this kid down the road and build the wide receiver corps into one of the best in the Big Ten.
