Illinois Football: Illini projected to sign all of their committed players
The Illinois football team had a list of players that were committed to play for them in 2019, and it looks like they are signing all of the ones who have pledged.
Illinois’ class of 2019 signing list right now includes Isaiah Williams, Moses Okpala, Joseph Thompson, Evan Kirts, Nick Fedanzo, Seth Coleman and Griffin Moore. There are only three players who haven’t signed yet and they are Marquez Beason, Kryon Cumby and Casey Washington.
Beason is set to sign his National Letter of Intent at Duncanville High School at 8:30 AM CT. This is a huge commitment for the Illini and one that should improve the defense immediately.
Cumby announced on Twitter Tuesday night that he would be signing with the Illini. This was a huge announcement considering he did take an official visit to Texas Tech this past weekend. There was a contingency of the Illinois fanbase that was nervous. The time of the signing is to-be-determined.
Washington is set to sign his National Letter of Intent at 4:30 PM CT. He announced this on Twitter Tuesday night. Getting Washington into the program is huge for the Illini. He is a talented wide receiver who will help this program continue their offensive excellence.
So, despite some rumors, it looks like Illinois is going to sign everyone they had committed. That is a big deal considering there were multiple recruits that teams continued to hound. The Illini locking up who they already have committed makes me gain even more confidence in what this coaching staff is doing on the recruiting trail.
Now the big question remains, who can the Illini snag that can add to this class today? I think Keith Randolph would be a big addition. Florida State came in with a scholarship offer on Tuesday night, so that might push back Randolph’s commitment. But, he is still slatted to sign today at 11:00 AM CT.
Big offensive lineman Isaiah Hookfin is another player to keep an eye on today. He might be committing and the Illini are in the running for this talented recruit. He would be a huge get for this program.
There are probably a few players that aren’t on my radar that could pop up today. Hopefully, the Illini can land a few sneaky gets and continue building this class during the early signing period.
