The Illinois football team needs to close up their class of 2019 with a few more big-time recruits.

Illinois currently has 11 commitments for the class of 2019 right now. The highest rated recruit, according to 247Sports, is Marquez Beason. He comes in at No. 84 in the nation and is the No. 4 athlete in the class of 2019.

Beason is going to be a great addition at cornerback and possibly as a playmaker on offense too. Illinois is also adding quarterback Isaiah Williams, running back Kyron Cumby, center Jakai Clark, running back Nick Fedanzo, wide receiver Casey Washington, tight end Griffin Moore and offensive tackle Evan Kirts to the offensive side of the ball as well. These players should help solidify some spots and take some positions over the top.

I mentioned that Beason is an ace cornerback. He will lead the incoming defensive recruits for the class of 2019. Joining Beason on defense will be defensive end Moses Okpala, cornerback Joseph Thompson and defensive end Seth Coleman. The Illini will have an improved defense this upcoming season.

Like I said earlier, though, the Illinois football team isn’t done recruiting. There are still some big recruits left on the board.

Here are five big targets for the Illini class of 2019.
