1. Jason Jitoboh – 70% Illinois, 30% Louisville

A big man for the class of 2019 is a point of emphasis for the Illinois basketball team. Jason Jitoboh would help fill that void and solidify the paint for this Illini program.

Jitoboh is a 6-foot-10, 270-pound center from Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 217 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 41 center in the nation. He is also the No. 6 player in the state of Tennessee as well.

There are four teams in the running for Jitoboh’s commitment. He took his first official visit to Tennessee back on September 14. His next one is to Florida this weekend on October 5. He will then visit Illinois on October 11 followed by Louisville on November 8.

Jitoboh would be a good pickup for the Illini. They don’t have a ton of size in the paint but are building this department. Adding someone like Jitoboh would help give Brad Underwood and the coaching staff some options at the No. 5 spot. The more options the better.

I think Illinois’ shot at landing Jitoboh is pretty solid as well. They have been on him for a while, and he was able to confirm with me that the Illini are still squarely in the mix. I think, at the end of the day, it will likely be between Illinois and Louisville. Jitoboh doesn’t have a commitment date set, but he says it will be soon.
