The Illinois basketball team went through some things on Monday night.

When I say went through some things, I mean there were a lot of negative emotions when the top player in the state of Illinois, EJ Liddell, picked Ohio State over the Illini. This news sent shockwaves through the Illinois fan base. But, Liddell isn’t the only recruit in the class of 2019 that Illinois is after. There are still more big fish to land.

Illinois has many targets still left on the board. The scope of their recruitment – by their choosing and players coming off the board – has really narrowed down. There are still some stragglers out there who could come onto the radar, but I believe there are five recruits who are being recruited the heaviest right now.

Each of these talented players would bring something different to the Illinois basketball team. Some of them would bring depth and the ability to have more bodies at a certain position. Others would help on the wing for the future. These players can play on the perimeter or get into the paint and score. And others would be huge gets that would shock the entire recruiting landscape.

Illinois can still put together a great class of 2019. Here are the five big Illini targets left for 2019.
