Illinois Basketball: Illini targets in the top 150 for the class of 2020

The Illinois basketball team has some big-time targets they are recruiting for the class of 2020.

This class is going to be important for the program for many reasons. The main reason that I see is that the guard play for the Illini is going to be extremely thin when 2020 rolls around.

Ayo Dosunmu is likely going to be out of the program and into the NBA by 2020. That would give him two years with the Illini and then he would depart. This would leave a big hole at the No. 2 guard spot. Trent Frazier might be in the same boat. He would technically be a senior when the class of 2020 comes into Champaign. I am not sure he is going to last that long. He might bolt to the NBA before his senior season.

Those two departing before 2020 makes this class a big one for the Illinois basketball program. They need more guards to come in and, thankfully, the class of 2020 can fill that need. This is a guard-heavy class. Illinois will also need a big man as well. More big man depth is always a big thing with the Illini.

Illinois has a handful top targets for the class of 2020, and they are all extremely talented. Rivals.com just came out with their new rankings and the Illini targets are all over it.
