Good news continued to flow in for the Illinois basketball team on the visit front Monday night.

One of the biggest targets on the Illinois big board right now is Drew Timme. He is someone Brad Underwood has a great chance at landing. He has also set some in-home visits in the month of September as well.

First reported by Stock Risers, Timme has six in-home visits set up for mid-September. He will start with Gonzaga on September 10, Alabama September 12, Michigan State September 13, Arizona September 16, Illinois September 17 and finish with Louisville on September 18.

Illinois getting in the mix for an in-home visit is a big deal. I know it isn’t an official visit, but the Illini are clearly in the mix for this kid, and he would be a huge get for the program. Timme is a 6-foot-9, 210-pound center from Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 44 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 11 center in the nation.

The Illini have been after Timme ever since Underwood took over the program in March 2017. One of the first priorities for Underwood was to offer Timme a scholarship, and he did just that. He was actually recruiting Timme in the one year he was with Oklahoma State, and that connection remains strong today.

Getting someone like Timme to come to Champaign would help the team so much. There are certain holes that Illinois has right now that Timme would help with. I actually have him as one of my recruits who would work best for the Illini in 2019. His game is different than a lot of other players.

When I watch Timme play the game of basketball, I think he would work best for the Illini as a No. 4. He isn’t just a big man who can guard the paint. I like him moving around, setting screens and then rolling off for a wide open three-point shot. This kid can do everything you would want on the court.

Getting Timme is one of the top priorities for the Illinois basketball team. He is a big piece to the puzzle for this program.
