The Illinois football team still has some work left to do to build the class of 2019 into one of the best in the nation.

So far, Lovie Smith and the Illinois coaching staff have done a great job putting together the class. They have solid foundation pieces with some top-tier players at the top. Even just yesterday, Marquez Beason reaffirmed that he is not going to de-commit from Illinois. This comes after some Illini fans had worries about him transferring high schools and the departure of Donnie Abraham.

Beason is going to be great in the Orange and Blue. They have Isaiah Williams coming in at quarterback as well. He will be throwing the ball to talented pass catchers in the class of 2019 like Fabian McCray, Casey Washington and Griffin Moore.

Illinois has also addressed the defensive side of the ball as well. Beason will come in and be an impact cornerback year one. Joseph Thompson will help give depth to the same position. And Seth Coleman has so much raw talent. It will be fun to watch him develop over the years.

There are so many reasons to be excited about the class of 2019. But, the Illini aren’t done yet. They still have work to do. Illinois has some targets who could be pulling the trigger soon.

Here are five Illini targets who could commit soon for 2019.
