2. Drew Timme – Top 10

One player who continues to rise in the recruiting rankings and now has a lot of recruiting attention is Drew Timme. He is going to be a really good player at the college level because of his size and athletic ability around the hoop and from the outside.

Timme is a 6-foot-9, 210-pound power forward from Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 47 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 11 power forward in the nation.

The recruitment of Timme is now down to just 10 programs. He cut his list back on August 2, and the teams who made the cut include Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Purdue, Gonzaga, Louisville, Arizona, Alabama, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Illinois.

Illinois made the top 10, which is good news for the Orange and Blue. But, there are some big-time programs on this list. Michigan State always worries me because Tom Izzo is Tom Izzo, and he has experience with big men like Timme.

Purdue is another team who has had an influx of big men come to their program recently as well. That is always scary. Honestly, the Spartans are my biggest worry right now, though. But, I think Illinois is in the hunt to end up landing Timme.

Brad Underwood was the first coach to offer Timme when he was at Oklahoma State. He then moved to Illinois and that connection continued. That is why the Illini made the top 10. I think they have a legit shot at landing him as well. My prediction right now for Timme’s recruitment is Illinois 50-percent, Michigan State 40-percent and Purdue 10-percent. I think Timme ends up in the Big Ten.
