Marquez Beason

Ceiling: The most impressive get for the Illinois football team in the class of 2019 was Marquez Beason. He is going to come into this Illinois program and be amazing from day one. His ceiling is extremely high for this team. There is a real potential he could start on both sides of the ball for the Illini.

Beason is a four-star athlete coming from the high school ranks. He can play both cornerback and wide receiver. He is ranked as the No. 74 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 4 athlete in the nation.

Starting on both sides of the ball is the ceiling for Beason. Illinois could immediately use him as a solid wide receiver who would start. But, he also excels at cornerback where Illinois could always use help as well. Having Beason come into the program is huge for the Illini.

Floor: Beason’s floor really isn’t that low. This kid is going to start no matter what. Everything depends on whether the coaches want to use him at multiple positions.

The floor for Beason is likely to be just playing one position, most likely cornerback. He would still start at the position and be one of the best cornerbacks in the game, but he would only play cornerback. This is the floor for this kid. That is an impressive floor.
