CHAMPAIGN, IL – JANUARY 24: Aaron Jordan /

No. 3 Guard/Forward

Starter: Aaron Jordan

I have been shaky on the No. 3 spot this season. I am not sure who will start, but I know who I want to start. I think Aaron Jordan would be a perfect option to have starting the season at the No.3 spot for the Illini.

Jordan is a senior this upcoming season and his veteran leadership is going to be invaluable. He is an important piece purely for his leadership. His game also started to develop last season as well. He averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. I want to see that production increase some this season. I would like to see him starting for this Illini team.

Backup: Alan Griffin

There were a few sneaky pickups in the class of 2018 for the Illini. I think one of the more underrated sneaky pickups was Alan Griffin. This kid has basketball blood in him, and he was one of the best players in the state of New York.

Griffin came into the Illinois basketball program as a three-star recruit. He was ranked as the No. 183 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 41 shooting guard in the nation. His presence this upcoming season is going to be important as well. Illinois will be able to call on him off the bench and with his abilities, he should be able to put points on the board. His shooting is amazing and I can’t wait to see what he can do.
