Illinois Football: Potential Illini wide receiver depth chart in 2019

The Illinois football team is a program that is on the rise no matter what anyone says.

This program has gone from a team that couldn’t snag more than one four-star in a season – if that – to a team that is vying for top 1000 players constantly. They have received commitments from two top 100 players already and are on the verge of getting more talented players to commit.

Illinois’ rebuilding process isn’t just about the coaching level rising, which it has, but it is also about the talent level rising. The Illini are finally getting players into the program that other teams really want. They are beating teams out for players who would normally look the other way when Illinois would come around.

The wide receiver core is one specific position that is benefiting from the tremendous recruiting surge that Illinois fans have experienced. This is the most talent I have seen at the positions in years and the group isn’t completed.

I think there could be a few more talented pass catches added to the class of 2019. If Illinois can snag these two recruits, the wide receiver core would be incredible. They would arguably be the best wide receiver core in the history of the program.
