Vincent Davis – Top 7

The running back position has been sketchy over the last few years. This position needs to be settled and getting a player like Vincent Davis would go a long way in accomplishing this goal.

Davis is a 5-foot-9, 170-pound running back from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 857 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 56 running back in the nation.

On Wednesday, Davis cut his list down to seven teams and included Georgia State, Kent State, Pittsburgh, Marshall, Kentucky, Wake Forest and Illinois. This is an interesting list but I think the Illini are one of the top teams.

Davis is currently on a visit to Pittsburgh right now. They are the projected leaders for his commitments, so that is what Illinois has to deal with. I would imagine the Illini are likely in second place right now for his commitment.

Illinois has a few Cardinal Gibbons players coming in from the class of 2018. This should help in the recruitment of Davis. I think he would be a great addition for the Illini program. Illinois isn’t set at running back, and he would provide some depth for the position.
