Illinois Football: Top 8 Illini targets confidence level for 2019

The Illinois football team has had a great start to the class of 2019.

Lovie Smith and the Illini coaching staff has landed some of the best recruits this program has seen in the last decade. They are building something special in Champaign but now they need more players to sign up to solidify this class as one of the best ever.

I am really excited to see what Isaiah Williams can do at quarterback for the Illini. He is going to give that position a much-needed shot in the arm. Illinois hasn’t had a suitable quarterback in the last five years.

It will be interesting to see where Marquez Beason lines up for the Illini as well. This kid has the ability to play both sides of the ball as well as special teams. He is an amazing get for this program.

The other recruits in this class are going to be special as well. Bryce Childress and Joseph Thompson will pressure the Illini starters at cornerback, and Griffin Moore should see some passes from Williams in the end zone.

But, the need for more players in this class is there. They need some more top 1000 players to sign up, so this class can go down as legendary. I think this class could be the start of something great for the Illini.
