Illinois Basketball: Top 5 recruits who will change the Illini program
4. Adam Miller
There are some great guards coming out of the class of 2020. Some of these talented guards are from the state of Illinois. Adam Miller is one of those talented guards who the Illini have been targeting for a very long time.
Miller is a 6-foot-3, 170-pound point guard from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a five-star recruit who is the No. 25 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 5 point guard in the nation. The Illini were one of the first programs to offer Miller, but they are going to have to beat out a lot of blue bloods for this kid.
I have Miller as a top five recruit who will change the Illini program because he is the bridge from Ayo Dosunmu. Dosunmu is going to come into Illinois and play one or maybe two years with the team. He said that in his commitment speech, and I believe it to be true. I would bet he ends up in Champaign for two years, though.
So, Dosunmu will have this upcoming season and then the season after that. He will then depart leaving Illinois with a big void at guard. Miller would then come in and start right away for the program. He would be the bridge from Dosunmu so Illinois doesn’t miss a beat.
Also, I want Illinois to continue having a great relationship with the Mac Irvin Fire AAU program. They need to continue building that relationship and having Dosunmu and then Miller come to Champaign would be huge for recruiting.
Miller finally had a chance to play this AAU season and his first four games back were sensational. He averaged 14.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal per game. He was deadly from deep shooting 46.9-percent from three-point range.
Illinois needs Miller to be a part of their team. He would help the program not miss a beat after losing Dosunmu. Getting him would ensure the future of Illinois basketball is bright.
