Illinois Football: Top 5 recruiting targets with Illini momentum

The Illinois football coaching staff has done some amazing work with the class of 2019 so far in the recruiting process.

What we have seen so far already is incredible, really. They currently sit with five total commitments with a national ranking of No. 33 and a Big Ten ranking of No. 7. The sky is the limit with this class. Illinois’ commitments are impressive as well.

The top recruit in the class is Isaiah Williams. He is the quarterback of the future. Marquez Beason is the next highest rated commitment. He can play on both sides of the ball for the Illini. Illinois also has two more cornerbacks and a tight end committed for 2019. All five of these players will be special in the Orange and Blue.

But, which players in the class of 2019 do the Illini have momentum with right now? There are so many players out there that have interest in the program, but getting those players committed is the tough part. Illinois does have momentum with a handful of recruits, though.

These recruits have visited or have named the Illini in their top list. Some of them continue to talk about the program as well. It would be amazing if Lovie Smith could land all of these recruits.
