No. 1 Guard

Starter – Trent Frazier

With Francis Okoro in the lineup, this frees up some space for the Illini on their roster. The more conservative lineup I am going with here has Trent Frazier at the No. 1 spot for Illinois.

Frazier was an amazing player last season for the Illini. He was arguably robbed of the Big Ten Freshman of the Year award which was given to Jaren Jackson of Michigan State. Frazier finished his true freshman campaign averaging 12.5 points, 3.1 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game. He should expand on that role this upcoming season as the main ball handler.

Backup – Andres Feliz

One of the most underrated recruits Illinois has ever snagged comes in the class of 2018. Andres Feliz isn’t being talked about enough for the upcoming season. This kid is really talented and will play a huge role for the Illini.

Feliz is coming into the Illinois program as the No. 6 junior college transfer in the nation and the No. 1 point guard. The Illini lost backup point guard Te’Jon Lucas this past month and having Feliz come in will fill the hole instantly. This was a great pickup for a team that needed some more depth at the No. 1 guard role.
