The Illinois basketball team will have limited spots available for the class of 2019.

Right now, Illinois is trying to land one more player to fill the 13 scholarships they are allotted in the class of 2018. Once they sign one more talented recruit, they will hit their mark of a full class and a full roster. But, that would only leave one scholarship remaining for the class of 2019.

This one scholarship is going to be extremely important for next season. Yes, there is the possibility of a player or two transferring out of the program, and this would free up more spots. But, as of right now, there would only be one scholarship left.

The big question remains; who will fill that one scholarship? This is the million dollar question. Illinois could always use another big at the No. 5 spot. They would benefit greatly from having someone who is athletic, can rebound and can score at-will.

Illinois could also use someone at the No. 4 spot who can run the court and be a dominant player in the paint and on the wing. For both of these roles, there are some great options available. The Illini could also think about the future at the No. 1 spot as well. Trent Frazier’s stock is rising, so he might not make it all four years.

With so many ways to go, here are four main options for the Illini in the class of 2019.
