No. 3 Guard/Forward

Starter: Tevian Jones

The recruiting scene has been hot for the Illinois basketball team over the last few weeks. Not only have they snagged Feliz but they also secured a commitment from Tevian Jones.

Jones is a 6-foot-6, 185-pound wing player from Culver City High School in Culver City, California. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 85 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 20 small forward in the nation.

Illinois will use Jones immediately. This kid is likely to start at the No. 3 spot for the Illini. He should be in a timeshare year one, though. He is going to be great and should be starting this season. I see him getting somewhere around 20 minutes and score about 7-10 points per game.

Backup: Aaron Jordan

I have Aaron Jordan being the backup to Jones to start the season. If I would have said this two years ago people would have called me crazy. But, I think Jordan would be a good option as a timeshare with Jones.

Jordan had a solid junior year last season. He finished the year averaging 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. I expect those similar numbers as well. He should be an important piece to this Illini team.
