The Illinois basketball team continues to add players to the class of 2018.

The class of 2018 now consists of five players who will help the program get back to the NCAA tournament after a five-year drought. The most recent commitment was Tevian Jones who pulled the trigger on Tuesday.

Jones will give more depth to the Illinois backcourt. He was a much-needed commitment considering the departures Illinois had this offseason. They lost Leron Black, Mark Alstork, Mark Smith, Michael Finke and Te’Jon Lucas. These five players made up for 51.9-percent of the Illinois minutes last season.

Brad Underwood now has to replace those players. This is going to be a challenge but I think he has done a great job so far. He has secured a solid class of 2018 that isn’t finished yet. They still need to add another guard and another No. 4 to the roster. That is how I want him to use the final two scholarship offers.

But, with the roster Illinois has right now, I think they can do some good things. They have one of the bask backcourts I have seen in the Orange and Blue in the last decade.

Here is the projected Illini roster with Tevian Jones.
