4. Fabian McCray

Another wide receiver that I have confidence in is Fabian McCray. This kid is a big pass catcher who could help the team immediately.

McCray is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound wide receiver from Phillips Academy in Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 800 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 103 wide receiver in the nation. It seems like Illinois has a lot of momentum for McCray as well.

The Illini have done a great job making McCray a priority. They need him and they are making it known how much he would mean to the team. He even took another visit down to Champaign this past week to let him mom get a feel for the program.

Illinois has been one of the hardest recruiters for McCray as well. The Illini, Kentucky and Iowa State are all pushing hard for him to commit. I think his recruitment will ultimately come down to those three teams at the end. The end isn’t anytime soon, though.

McCray doesn’t have plans for official visits and a commitment isn’t coming in the near future. So, the Illini have their work cut out for them. They can’t let up on McCray. This kid could be used day one on the depth chart.

Illinois could potentially snag both Phillips Academy players, McCray and Jahleel Billingsley. These two would form a great combination in this Illini offense.
