3. Ira Henry

The Illinois football team really focused on building the offensive line the last few recruiting classes. To win football games, the offensive line needs to be stable. That was clearly the goal for this Illini coaching staff. Getting a player like Ira Henry would help that cause as well.

Henry is a 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive tackle. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 786 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 71 offensive tackle in the nation. The recruiting attention for Henry is plentiful as well. He has 20 scholarship offers with the most recent being Ole Miss.

As of right now, Henry hasn’t cut down his list yet, but he does show interest in programs. He attended the Illinois junior day back in February and then a few weeks ago he took an unofficial visit to Missouri. These two schools make the most sense, but I think Illinois could use him the most.

The Illini can always use more offensive line help. Their offensive line this past season, while young, were not very good. They didn’t give the Illinois quarterbacks time. But, that should improve heading into 2018. I think Henry would be a great addition, though. He brings a lot of size to the table. This kid is going to be special wherever he ends up.
