1. Isaiah Williams

The prized recruit in the class of 2019 for the Illinois football team is none other than Isaiah Williams. Getting this kid would be a huge step forward in making the Illini a contender again in the Big Ten.

Williams is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound athlete who is rated as a five-star recruit who is the No. 27 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 3 athlete in the nation. It is impressive the work Illinois has put into this kid on the recruiting trail. They have created such a great relationship with him that they are now trending at 77-percent in favor of landing him.

Of course, the usual suspects are after this top 50 player. Oklahoma and Michigan are the two who also have votes to snag Williams. Alabama, Ohio State and Oregon are also up there as well. But, Illinois has managed to create a foundation of trust and that is key.

Illinois has also started to build a great class of 2019 as well. Getting a player like Marquez Beason who is also a top 60 player is huge not only for the program on the field but for the recruiting class. Other top players see they can go to Illinois too and that is when the floodgates open.
