The Illinois football team is on the verge of having a great class of 2019.

Two players have already signed up to play football for Lovie Smith and the Illini in 2019. Those two players are Marquez Beason and Griffin Moore.

Beason was the first to pull the trigger as he committed a week ago today. He is a four-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 54 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 6 athlete in the nation. The Illinois defense is going to be much improved with him on the depth chart.

Moore is a great addition to the team as well. He is a three-star recruit who is the No. 1469 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 65 tight end in the nation. Getting him will bolster the depth at tight end, which is something Illinois is lacking.

The Illini aren’t done yet, though. They still have a lot of work left to do. One pipeline they have started to build is through Trinity Catholic High School in St. Louis, Missouri. This high school produces so much talent every year and Illinois seems to be making strides to land some of these top players. They also hired their former head coach in Cory Patterson as well. Not only is he a great coach, but that is a great recruiting chip as well.

Getting a handful of players from Trinity Catholic would be huge for the Illinois football program. Here are the top five Illini targets from Trinity Catholic.
