1. Isaiah Williams

The golden goose of the class of 2019 for the Illinois football team is Isaiah Williams. This kid is a freak athlete who has a high interest in the Orange and Blue.

Williams is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound athlete from Trinity Catholic High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He is rated as a five-star recruit who is the No. 28 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 1 player in the state of Missouri. The recruitment of Williams by Illinois has been impressive from day one, and it continues to get stronger by the day.

I have seen players with a lot of scholarship offers, but Williams has arguably the most I have ever seen. Alabama, Michigan and Oklahoma are all up there fighting against Illinois, but the Illini are solidly in the mix for this top 50 player.

Williams was already looking at Illinois before the last few months. He took a visit to the program in July and October of 2017. He then attended the Illini junior day in February of this year. Williams also has a connection to the Illinois staff with his former head coach Cory Patterson. He is the tight ends coach, like previously mentioned, and is an extra bonus to Williams if he decides to come to Champaign.

The commitment of Marquez Beason this past weekend also had to help with the recruitment of Williams. Beason was the first big recruit to commit to Lovie, and he showed the nation the rebuild is for real. Top players can commit to playing for the Illini. They communicate with each other as well.

Williams is the No. 1 priority for the Illini right now. He is a superstar athlete who played quarterback in high school but can do a lot of the football field. If the Illini can get him, the Big Ten better watch out.
