1. Jason Bargy

Jason Bargy is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound weak-side defensive end from Momence High School in Momence, Illinois. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 85 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 2 player in the state of Illinois.

Bargy has already been swarmed with a ton of scholarship offers. He has almost every Big Ten team after him and the likes of Notre Dame and Iowa State are also hot on his trail. Just recently – February 10 – Bargy also took an unofficial visit up to Michigan State as well.

Getting a player of Bargy’s caliber would be big no matter where he was from in the country. But, the fact he is in the Illini’s backyard is great news for the Fighting Lovie Smiths. Illinois seems to have jumped on his recruitment early and they have been on him a lot since.

There is a ton to like about Bargy. That is why he is a top 100 player. First, I want to state he has the size of a big-time college player already. You then mix in that size with his great speed and you have a dominant player. These are the two things you need to be special and he has them.

Illinois needs to land Bargy. He is a big one for this program and, honestly, the coaching staff.
