The Illinois basketball team needs to bulk up their class of 2018 so they can win in the future.

Right now, the Illini have only signed one player for next season. Ayo Dosunmu is going to be sensational for the Illini, but they need more talent than just him if they want to compete for Big Ten titles.

The Illinois roster currently consists of two Big Ten starting caliber players. Those two players are Trent Frazier and Leron Black. But, beyond that, they have either solid backups, backups or players who I am not sure should be at this level. Adding Dosunmu will make three Big Ten starting caliber players on the roster.

Getting more talent is extremely important. There are still some great players out there right now for the class of 2018 that they Illini are after. If they can land at least one of these players and then potentially get a grad transfer big man, then I think the future would be extremely bright.

There is still a lot of work left to do to complete the class of 2018, though. Illinois is putting all their resources into landing a few of these recruits. They need them to have success.

Here are the top class of 2018 targets for the Illini.
