1. Pipeline to Bishop Dunne could prove big

Now that the class of 2018 is pretty much finished up it is almost time to start really diving into the class of 2019. Illinois has already started laying the groundwork for this group and getting a few Bishop Dunne High School players coming in this season could help them tremendously for 2019.

Arguably, the best player in the class of 2018 for the Illini was Calvin Avery. He is a 6-foot-2, 310-pound defensive tackle from Bishop Dunne. He was also ranked as the No. 216 player in the class of 2018. In addition to Avery, Illinois also snagged Kievan Myers from Bishop Dunne as well. He is a 6-foot-5, 330-pound offensive guard who is ranked as the No. 1,047 player in the class of 2018.

These two players from Bishop Dunne will prove huge on the football field in 2018, but I think they will also help with the pipeline to this powerhouse high school football program as well.

Illinois is currently pursuing a few Bishop Dunne players for the class of 2019. The most notable player is Marquez Beason. He is a 5-foot-11, 173-pound athlete who is rated as four-star recruit who is the No. 55 player in the class of 2019. One of the main reasons Illinois is in the race for Beason is because of the great relationship they have with Bishop Dunne.

The Illini are also pursuing players like Logan Wilson – 5-foot-9 cornerback – and Jabari Khepera – 5-foot-10 wide receiver – in the class of 2019 as well. These players, in addition to Beason, would be big for the future of Illinois football. Developing the pipeline to Bishop Dunne is huge for the Illini.
