The Illinois football team had two unsurprising departures yesterday that left the quarterback situation a little thin, to say the least.

Jeff George Jr. was the first quarterback to announce he will be leaving the program. He will be a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining. Some program will be getting a quarterback who can sling the ball around the field. I wish him nothing but the best.

The other quarterback to leave the team is Chayce Crouch. Instead of transferring out of the program, Crouch decided to hang up his cleats. He is not going to be playing football anymore. I enjoyed watching him put everything on the line when he was on the field. His goal line dives are burnt into my memory.

But, now Illinois is left with one scholarship quarterback heading into spring practice. The Illini will also have MJ Rivers coming in from the class of 2018 as well. There is the possibility of having Coran Taylor sign on National Signing Day too. He remains committed to Illinois. DJ Irons could be another possible commitment for the Illini.

Some people want to look for a graduate transfer to help the quarterback situation. There aren’t a ton of dual-threat quarterbacks out there, though. In fact, I am not in favor of getting a graduate transfer because I want to see Rivers start in 2018. But, for those who are in favor of getting a grad transfer to come in, here are five options for you.
