4. Maurice Calloo

Another under-the-radar recruit that has some pretty big offers but he isn’t highly rated is Maurice Calloo.

Calloo is a 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward from Oak Hill Academy in Huntington, West Virginia. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 309 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 12 player in the state of West Virginia.

The recruitment of Calloo has been extremely low key. He is still playing his high school season, so I assume his recruitment will heat up a bit more when that is finished. There will possibly be a few visits in there as well.

I am impressed with the scholarship offers Calloo has received, though. In addition to Illinois, teams like Kansas State, Florida and Mississippi State have all offered him a scholarship. That means they also see something in this kid and want him to play for their team in 2018.

Illinois could use a player like Calloo. He would help provide depth at the No. 4 spot on the team. Leron Black will be in his final season in 2018 and having Calloo will be a nice backup plan for him.

I could see Illinois landing Calloo. It is hard to read this one because of how quiet the recruitment has been, though. I think when the season ends for Calloo, Illinois will be in the mix. They might not land him, but they will be in the mix.
