3. Tevian Jones

Getting a nice wing player who can handle the ball and make shots would be huge for the Illinois basketball team. They are still looking to fill a void left by legend Malcolm Hill. But, I think Tevian Jones could help patch that hole up.

Jones is a 6-foot-6, 200-pound wing player from Culver City High School in Culver City, California. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 119 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 10 player in the state of California.

Illinois is running out of options for the class of 2018 but Jones is a player out there that I think they can snag. In fact, I have the most confidence Illinois will land him out of all the players on this list. He is a sensational basketball player and someone who can put up a massive amount of points.

The recruitment of Jones is kind of quiet right now. There hasn’t been a ton of news on him since the Illini offered him back on November 1. He has lit up the scoreboard in high school, though.

There are some big names in the hunt for Jones. 247Sports has Cincinnati, Connecticut and Xavier all on the same playing field as the Illini, but I think they are in the lead for this kid. I wouldn’t be surprised if Illinois ends up landing him sometime in the next few months after the basketball season ends and before AAU begins.
