The Illinois basketball team only has one recruit committed for the class of 2018 and that has me slightly worried.

Granted, the only recruit committed for 2018 is Ayo Dosunmu. He is a five-star guard who is the No. 26 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois. But, the start of this season is exhibit A on why the Illini need some more help for the future.

I honestly believe that with just Dosunmu, Illinois is going to make the NCAA tournament next season. They aren’t far off right now. I think they just need one more player to get over the hump. Illinois is averaging losing by less than six points in their losses, and they have fallen in three overtime games and were beat by Nebraska on a last-second shot.

Despite what I believe about next season, I still think there are some holes to fill on this Illinois basketball roster. I would like to get another big man to help in the paint. I wouldn’t mind filling the massive void of a true wing player as well.

There are a few recruits left out there for Underwood and his staff. Here are the remaining Illini targets for the class of 2018.
