4. Trent Frazier might be the best player I have seen since Dee Brown

I think I have said this before but I will say it again. I think Trent Frazier might be the best player I have seen in Orange and Blue since Dee Brown donned the uniform back in 2006. He has been sensational this season and that great play has continued into the Big Ten slate.

Last night, Frazier finished with 27 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field and 7-of-11 from the three-point arc. He had all of those points and didn’t make a single free throw. That is how you know this kid is going to be a superstar.

Frazier also added three assists, two rebounds and a steal in his great performance. Even though it wasn’t enough to take down the Hawkeyes, I was extremely impressed how he played the entire night. He was great on the offensive end of the court and his defense is okay enough right now.

Over the last eight games, Frazier is now averaging 16.5 points per game. He has three games over 20 points in that stretch and only one game with less than 10 points. In that game with less than 10 points, he managed to get himself in foul trouble. That seems to be a trend that needs to be broken with this young Illini team.

Frazier’s great play won’t stop anytime soon. He will continue to impress Illini fans no matter how bad the team is this season. He is the best player on the current squad by far and, I think, he is the best player Illinois has had since Dee Brown.
