Khris Bogle – Defensive End

Building the defense up to one of the best in the nation is clearly a priority for Lovie and the Illini coaching staff right now. Getting talented players to start and fill in for depth is big if the Illini want to compete. Khris Bogle is a player who would instantly boost the Illini defensive line.

Bogle is a 6-foot-4, 207-pound defensive end from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 172 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 28 player in the state of Florida.

If you are just looking at 247Sports, it looks like Bogle doesn’t have much interest in the Illini. They have Florida State, Miami and Clemson as potential landing spots for this talented defensive end. But, I don’t think Illinois is out of the running for him.

Illinois offered Bogle back in September 2017. He also posted a picture and said it would be nice to play with Ron and Los at Illinois. He is referring to his teammates at Cardinal Gibbons – Carlos Sandy and Ron Hardge III – who both have signed with the Illini in the class of 2018. They are both benefits of coming to Champaign for Bogle.

In addition to playing with his teammates, Bogle can also see playing time right away. He is a big defensive end who will cause chaos throughout the Big Ten. I couldn’t even imagine having him at the end of the line just tearing through opposing offenses.

I think Miami ends up with Bogle because he continues to take visits down there and seems to like them. But, I also think Illinois is going to be on this top list when he releases that as well. They should be players in the race for Bogle.
