Marquez Beason – Cornerback/Wide Receiver

One of the most impressive recruits the Illinois football team is after for 2019 is Marquez Beason. This kid is truly going to be a superstar at the college level and getting him would help set the Illini up for success in the future.

Beason is a 5-foot-11, 173-pound recruit from Bishop Dunne High School in Dallas, Texas. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 83 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 10 player in the state of Texas. I didn’t name a position yet for Beason because he can play multiple positions at the next level.

The plan for Beason is to play both wide receiver and cornerback wherever he ends up. He is such a dynamic shutdown cornerback and would start day one for the Illini. He would also be a great pass catcher in Champaign as well. He has tremendous speed and can glide around the field.

Beason’s recruitment is going to end a little early, though. He plans on making his five official visits this spring an then a commitment will come in the summer. There haven’t been plans on what schools he is visiting but from the vibes I am getting, Illinois is going to get one of them.

Illinois also has a leg up on the competition. They are the new home to two of Beason’s teammates. Calvin Avery and Kievan Myers both committed to Illinois for the class of 2018 and will be great players for this program. This is another benefit of playing for the Illini. He can play with his teammates again. Hopefully, Illinois can land Beason and continue building their program up to the elite level.
