Isaiah Williams – Athlete

Some of the most recent glory days for the Illinois football team included a quarterback named Isiah Williams. Most knew him as Juice, though. Fast forward about a decade later and the Illini are after another quarterback named Isaiah Williams.

Williams is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound recruit from Trinity Catholic High School in Saint Louis, Missouri. He is rated as a five-star recruit who is the No. 26 player in the class of 2019 and the No. 1 player in the state of Missouri. There is still speculation on what position Williams will play in college, though.

Most quarterbacks are taller than 5-foot-10 but there is always that option on the table. Illinois is always looking for more quarterback help and having someone like Williams behind center would be sensational for the program. The other option could be cornerback.

Williams can play both sides of the ball. He is a great all-around athlete and Illinois needs more defensive back help in 2019. Adding a player of Williams’ caliber would instantly boost the defense.

The odds of landing Williams aren’t great considering what the Illini will be going up against. They have to take on powerhouse programs and that usually doesn’t bode well. But, Illinois has received multiple unofficial visits – one on July 28 and another on October 28 – so that is some good news.

If Lovie could land Williams, it would truly be a great accomplishment and would put the Illini on the map.
