7. Julian Pearl

The more offensive line help the better. Illinois needs players who can block for the running backs and quarterbacks. This is something the team has been missing for quite some time. But, I think things are turning around up front.

Illinois secured some nice offensive linemen for the class of 2018. One of those players that committed to the Illini program was Julian Pearl. He is a 6-foot-7, 245-pound offensive lineman from Danville, Illinois.

Pearl is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 1164 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 105 offensive tackle in the nation. He didn’t have a ton of scholarship offers and even committed to Northern Illinois back on February 6. But, Pearl decided to flip his commitment on April 21 and ended up going with the Illini.

The recruitment of Pearl is coming to an end. He confirmed with me that he will be signing on Wednesday, December 20. This is when most of the Illini commits will be signing, and I am glad to have Pearl come to Champaign. He is another solid piece to a puzzle that is still being put together. I think he will have a great career with the Illini.

*UPDATE* – Signing Dates – December 20: Jartavius Martin, Daniel Barker
