4. Kievan Myers

Everyone is drooling over Calvin Avery and rightfully so, the kid is a sensational defensive tackle. But, don’t overlook another great recruit from the Bishop Dunne High School, Kievan Myers.

Myers was a great get for the Illinois football coaching staff. He was a big piece to the Illini puzzle up front on offense. They not only needed more depth on the offensive line, but they also needed players who could actually block for the running back and quarterback.

I really like the addition of Myers to this team. He is a three-star recruit who is the No.984 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 40 offensive guard in the nation. There were so many teams after this kid, like Utah, West Virginia and Missouri, but he decided to pick the Illini.

Myers will make his commitment to Illinois official this week. First reported by Jeremy Werner of 247Sports, Myers will sign this week along with his teammate Calvin Avery. Avery is signing on Wednesday, December 20, so I assume that is when Myers will sign as well.

Getting Myers is huge for this Illinois program. They lost some offensive linemen up front and, honestly, Illinois just wasn’t good on the offensive line this past season. It is good to see some more help coming in.
