The Illinois basketball team has a big-time visitor this weekend. Ayo Dosunmu is coming to Champaign, and the Illini need to pitch an impressive package.

Dosunmu is a 6-foot-4, 172-pound combo-guard from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a five-star recruit who is the No. 30 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 3 combo-guard in the nation.

At one time, the only visits Dosunmu set up were to USC and Wake Forest. He had three visits remaining and finally scheduled one to Illinois. He still has two left but it looks like he may not be taking those after cutting his list down to just two programs.

Illinois and Wake Forest were the only two to survive the cut. Dosunmu took an official visit to the Demon Deacons on September 29, so their visit is over. He is now on the Illinois visit this weekend and Illinois needs to really put on a show for this kid.

The Illini have lost a handful of targets before this weekend. The fanbase is down a little bit about recruiting but none of that matters. Those recruits weren’t the main targets. Dosunmu was one of the main targets and that is why Illinois needs him.

Here is the recruiting pitch by the Illini.
